When designing a surveillance system for one of the most recognized schools in the country, a solution that would require more than 200 cameras, co-owner Mark Momsen of Intersec Port Elizabeth
made clear his requirements for quality, reliability and system longevity from the outset. As this came as a significant investment by the school, this installation would require the best VMS software available, a product that had the proven pedigree and recognised international footprint that would ensure both performance and continued development for years to come.
In an industry where technological advancements in camera performance are taking place almost on a monthly basis, significant emphasis was placed on which VMS solution was best positioned to match these developments and continue to incorporate these advancements, allowing the end user to maintain the same software solution well into the future. The obvious choice was Milestone, an open platform solution, able to integrate with over 1000 technology providers such as Axis, Vivotek, Hikvision, Samsung and Flir is in over 150’000 installations worldwide and now is responsible for the management of video from over 200 IP cameras at Grey High School, South Africa.
